White & Case Contributes Chapter to 10th Edition of Electricity Regulation 2012
Washington, DC,
January 9, 2012 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP has contributed the US chapter to the 10th anniversary edition of Electricity Regulation 2012, published by Getting the Deal Through. The book covers energy regulations in 28 jurisdictions across the globe with information for each country presented in an accessible question-and-answer format.
The White & Case chapter, which explores current government policy and the legislative framework for the US electricity sector, was co-authored by Earle O'Donnell, chair of White & Case's Global Power Industry Group, and Caileen Gamache, an associate in the Firm’s Americas Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance Practice, both based in Washington, DC. O'Donnell also served as the book's contributing editor since its inception.
"With no single government body setting policy for the electricity sector in the United States, it can be a minefield trying to navigate through the various restructuring, deregulation and regulatory reforms," said O'Donnell. "This chapter describes changes implemented by the US Congress and federal agencies such as the Department of Energy and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission across a range of issues, including energy generation and transmission, alternative energy sources, climate change, nuclear power, government incentives and pricing structures."
