White & Case Strengthens Real Estate Practice with Partner Hire

London, January 13, 2012 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP has further strengthened its Global Real Estate Practice, hiring James Dodsworth as a partner in London.

James joins White & Case from Mayer Brown LLP, where he was a real estate partner. He brings with him more than 15 years' experience in the sector and has worked extensively across the UK, Europe and Asia. James has a broad range of expertise and has advised corporate investors, financial institutions, private equity and property companies on a diverse range of legal structures and transactions involving real estate assets. He is particularly well known in the market for his global work with data centres and has advised clients such as Research in Motion, the London Stock Exchange and Digital Realty Trust.

"James has an impressive background in real estate. His skills match our focus on large, complex transactions across a range of real estate asset classes, domestically and internationally," said David Cox, head of White & Case's Real Estate practice in London. "Over the last year we have not only seen a significant increase of international investment into London real estate but we have also been active on various real estate transactions outside the UK for clients. As such, James' global outlook, knowledge and experience are ideally suited to our current team and strategic ambitions for growth."

"We are committed to having a robust Real Estate team," said Oliver Brettle, Executive Partner of the Firm's London office. "James' appointment strengthens our existing London Real Estate team, as well as the Firm's Corporate practice more broadly."

Over the course of 2011, White & Case acted on a number of high profile real estate transactions for a variety of private equity clients, including Doughty Hanson and Starwood Capital.
