White & Case Advises Mexichem on $350 Million Acquisition

Miami, April 19, 2010 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP advised Mexichem SAB de CV, a major Mexican chemical producer, on its acquisition of the fluorochemical business division of UK-based INEOS Holdings Limited for US$350 million.

The acquisition comprises the fluorochemical business and assets of INEOS in the United States, Europe and Asia. The transaction makes Mexichem a global and fully integrated producer of special fluorochemicals with incremental annual sales of more than US$500 million.

More than 40 White & Case lawyers across four offices assisted Mexichem on a wide of range of legal issues, including global tax structuring, pre-merger competition filings in the United States and Brazil, the transfer of subsidiaries in the UK, Canada, Japan and Taiwan and the transfer of business assets that included a Louisiana chemical manufacturing facility.
