White & Case Advises on US$400 Million High-Yield Offering by MIE Holdings

Hong Kong, June 1, 2011 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised on a US$400 million high yield offering by MIE Holdings Corporation of 9.75% senior notes due 2016.

"The MIE offering provided a unique opportunity for high yield investors globally to gain first time exposure to China's Oil & Gas industry" said Anna-Marie Slot, White & Case partner. "This transaction highlights the expanding range of companies in the PRC that can benefit from access to the high yield markets".

White & Case represented Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and UBS in the transaction. Bank of America Merrill Lynch acted as sole global co-ordinator and joint bookrunner on this Rule 144/Regulation S debut high yield bond, Deutsche Bank acted as joint bookrunner and UBS as co-manager.

MIE is an independent upstream oil company operating three oil fields in the northeastern province of Jilin, China. It listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in December 2010.
