White & Case Announces Three Winners of Its 17th Annual Business Law Scholarship

Paris, June 7, 2011 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP today announced three winners of the 2011 White & Case Business Law Scholarship. The winners will share €30,000, enabling them to continue their studies at a foreign university of their choice.

The Annual Business Law Scholarship is part of White & Case social responsibility initiative. The Firm began the scholarship program in 1995 as way to promote academic excellence and share its principles of solidarity and mutual aid.

The three winners, who were recognized during an awards ceremony at White & Case's office on May 31, 2011, are:
  • Marièle Coulet Diaz, who received a grant of €12,000 to go to Boalt Law School at the University of California Berkeley. Marièle obtained a Master 2 in Business Law at the University Paris 2 – Assas, where she also earned her degree in Business and Tax Law. She is currently a law student at the EFB in Paris.
  • Khadidia Timera, who received a grant of €12,000 to go to Golden Gate University, California. Khadidia obtained a double Masters in Private and Business Law at the University Paris X-Nanterre, where she is preparing a diploma in Comparative Law.
  • Anne-Laure Judlin de Hemptinne, who received a grant of €6,000 to go to Columbia Law School, New York. Anne-Laure is currently enrolled at the EFB in Paris and earned a Master 2 in General Private Law at the University Paris 2–Assas.

The winners were selected from among eight pre-selected candidates (out of a total of 54) who were invited to meet the members of the Jury to present their candidacy. This year, the jury was presided by Renaud Van Ruymbeke, premier juge d'instruction au pôle financier and included Philippe Delebecque, a Professor at Université-Paris I; Georges Dirani, Group General Counsel of BNP Paribas; Marc Eisenberg, Founding Director of Alma Consulting Group; Pierre-Olivier Sur, Representative of the Paris Bar Association; Isabelle Fenayrou-Degas and Bertrand Liard, Partners at White & Case; and Delphine Srebnik, Finalist of the 2009 Business Law Scholarship.
