White & Case Represents Kelson Energy in Power Plant Sale to Tennessee Valley Authority

New York, July 12, 2011 ... Global law firm White & Case LLP represented Kelson Energy Inc. in its sale of a 968-megawatt natural gas power plant to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, is subject to various closing conditions and required regulatory approvals.

Located in Mississippi, the Magnolia Combined Cycle Gas Plant is a modern, fully permitted generating facility with a proven operational history with TVA. The plant is located in the TVA service area and is connected to the TVA grid and has been a source of purchased power for TVA since it opened in 2003.

Kelson Energy Inc., which has owned the plant since 2005, is an independent power producer engaged in the business of owning and operating electric generating facilities.
