White & Case Wins Twelve Awards from Key Trade Finance Publications

Global law firm White & Case LLP has won twelve Trade Finance awards, including "Best Trade Law Firm in North America", from two leading sector magazines, Trade Finance and Global Trade Review. The awards demonstrate White & Case's market-leading expertise in global trade finance projects.

White & Case has won Trade Finance magazine's 2009 Award for Excellence as the 'Best Trade Law Firm in North America'.
The firm has also won Trade Finance magazine 'Deals of the Year 2009' for the following transactions:
- Fibria – A US $1.175 billion secured export-backed facility. The deal was the first syndicated trade loan in Brazil since the credit crisis
- Guelb II – An ECA-covered financing which was part of a US $1 billion investment programme in Mauritania
- KEA – Multilateral support through a US $90 million traditional commodity trade finance structure, signed in one the world’s toughest geographies of 2009, Kazakhstan
- Medupi&Kusile – A landmark €1.185 billion export credit for South Africa’s power generation company Eskom
- MegaFon – The largest direct deal (with a value of US $300 million) provided to a Russian telecoms operator without any ECA coverage or collateral support
- TORM – A breakthrough in the shipping industry for Chinese export credit insurer Sinosure, and a breakthrough in supporting Chinese shipbuilding export market with the US $167.3 million financing structure includes Sinosure credit and commercial credit
- TRC Trading Corporation – A landmark US $60 million revolving credit facility transaction, which stood out through its innovative structure and web-based control of collateral
White & Case LLP won Global Trade Review 'Best Deals of 2009' awards for these transactions:
- Fibria – A secured export-backed facility worth US $1.175 billion. The deal was the first syndicated trade loan in Brazil since the credit crisis
- KazExportAstyk – A US $90 million pre-export and borrowing base facility for a Kazakhstan agri-holding
- Nord Stream – €5.5 billion cross-border project finance to support pipeline project, a joint effort between White & Case’s Russian, Baltic States, and German teams
- Sainsbury's – A £250 million supply chain finance facility for a British supermarket chain
