White & Case Strengthens Its World Trade Organization Practice in Geneva
Geneva,
June 9, 2009 ... As part of the Firm's moves to enhance its international network, White & Case is pleased to announce that its Geneva office has been converted to a regular LLP office of the Firm.
The Geneva office, which opened in 2002, used to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of White & Case LLP. It is now a regular LLP office. The Geneva office provides advisory and advocacy services for our key global clients on World Trade Organization (WTO) and other trade issues.
"We are delighted to convert Geneva into a regular LLP office. Through our presence in Geneva over the last few years, we have been able to establish one of the leading WTO practices in the world", stated Brendan McGivern, Executive Partner of the Geneva office of White & Case LLP. "The move is part of the office's evolution, and will also enable us to plan for future growth."
The Geneva office specializes in international trade law, particularly the law of the WTO. It will continue to be led by Brendan McGivern. He leads a team of four other lawyers and one non-lawyer trade professional.
"WTO rules and the WTO dispute settlement system play a critical role in global trade and therefore affect our clients in almost every aspect of their operations," added McGivern. "In many cases, our clients have used WTO rules to secure and maintain access to foreign markets. In these economically difficult times, this is more important than ever."
