White & Case Continues European Capital Markets Expansion with Addition of US Capital Markets Partner in Germany

Frankfurt, London, July 27, 2007 ... White & Case is continuing the rapid expansion of its European Capital Markets Practice with its sixth major arrival since the beginning of the year. US-qualified capital markets local partner James Black joins the Firm in Frankfurt, bringing with him ten years of experience in both equity and debt capital markets. James is fluent in both English and German.

His arrival will enable us to serve our clients even better, particularly through his US capital markets capabilities," commented Markus Hauptmann, executive partner of White & Case in Frankfurt.

So far this year, White & Case's European Capital Markets Practice has seen the addition of partner Lutz Krämer and local partner Benedikt Gillessen in Frankfurt, as well as partners Andrew Caunt, Andrew Croxford and Carter Brod in London. Additionally London corporate and equity capital markets lawyer Greg Stonefield was promoted to partner at the beginning of 2007.

James is particularly experienced in both domestic German and international equity and debt transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises on US private placements. Most recently, he advised JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank on the initial public offering (IPO) of Alstria Office AG; Dresdner Bank on the IPO of Cat.oil AG; and UBS on an international rights offering by Holcim Ltd. All the transactions featured a Rule 144A tranche.
