White & Case Advises the Klépierre Group on its Latest Acquisitions

Paris, September 6, 2007 ... White & Case advised Klépierre, a leading European shopping centre manager, in its acquisition of a project to build a shopping centre in the centre of Budapest, Hungary, from Futureal Real Estate Holding Ltd. for a provisional investment of €229 million. The project is part of the Corvin Promenade Project, currently the largest city centre regeneration effort in Central Europe.

White & Case also advised Klépierre on its negotiations with real estate investment manager AXA REIM to acquire the 10 percent interest held by one of its customers in Ségécé, a real estate agency and management company specialising in shopping centres, for €20 million. Under the agreement Klépierre will also acquire a 41.6 percent interest in the Courier shopping centre in Annecy for €37 million.

The White & Case team advising Klépierre on the acquisition of the Hungarian shopping centre was led by Paris-based partner Brice Engel, working closely with local partner Zsuzanna Kovacs and associate Monika Frank in Budapest.  Brice Engel also led the team advising on the second transaction, working closely with associate Franck de Vita in Paris.
