White & Case Raises £30K for Cycle Kenya Challenge
London Office to Cycle Across Kenya to Raise Money for International Childcare Trust

London, November 7, 2007 ... A team of four employees from White & Case's London office is set to cycle over 400km in five days across Kenya to raise money for International Childcare Trust (ICT). The intrepid team of cyclists, Richard Esteves-Mills, Jeremy Ford, Hannah Turner and Sarah Pye, has raised £30,000 for the charity.

Over £8,000 was raised at a recent stand-up comedy night, with entertainment provided by four top comedians from London's Comedy Store. The evening also included a charity auction and among the items which raised the most money and caused the most competitive bidding were two days paid holiday, a cricket bat signed by Marcus Trescothick and tickets for the recent Manchester United v. Chelsea game. The rest of the money has been raised thanks to generous personal and corporate donations, the latter including donations from Addison Lee, AKON Online, AON, British Airways, CDW, Clarendon UK, Crown Relocations, Huron Consulting, Intelligent Office (UK), Lewis Silkin, MITIE, Office Tiger and Virgin Active (Bank branch).

"We are delighted to be involved once again with International Childcare Trust. This year the team has worked tremendously hard in their fundraising efforts, managing to raise almost double the collective total that the Firm has raised for ICT since 2003, and we wish them all the best in their journey across Kenya," commented Rachel Hatfield, the White & Case partner leading the Firm's involvement with ICT.

White & Case's London office first became involved with ICT in 2000 and since then has seen employees cycle across Kenya, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and India. The London office supports various charities, raising money through a number of fundraising activities, examples of which include: working with the Dickie Bird Foundation, which provides financially disadvantaged children with sporting opportunities, to organise a charity event, raising in excess of £10,000; and raising £8,000 at a London office quiz night for the Richard House Children's Trust, a children's hospice in London.

About International Childcare Trust
ICT helps some of the most under-privileged children in the world, not just by offering emergency aid, but also by providing the chance to start again with education, skills training and healthcare. The Trust works both in the UK and in developing countries, in direct partnership with local groups, to implement innovative and cost-effective development and relief initiatives, for the poorest members of the community. The Trust currently works in Cambodia, Kenya, Sri Lanka and India with key partner NGOs.
