The UK government has published a draft bill that amends key provisions of the Construction Act. Scheduled to be put before Parliament in December, the bill widens a ban on conditional payment clauses, replaces withholding notices with a wholly new payment structure, sets new controls on adjudication costs, strengthens the right to suspend work for non-payment, and repeals the controversial writing requirements, except in relation to certain adjudication contract clauses.
