Practice Experience Mr. Wendt concentrates in corporate law, in particular, advice regarding stock corporations and groups of companies, mergers and acquisitions, and financing and banking law.
Mr. Wendt gained extensive legal and business experience from various staff and management positions in the German banking industry. For over ten years he was in-house counsel of an important German private bank with a focus on the management of equity holdings in other banks and industrial companies, corporate finance business, and investment companies of the group, including responsibility for the collateral and workout department of the bank. Within the banking group, Mr. Wendt also served for a time as managing director of an installment loan bank and of the investment company of the group. He subsequently performed executive staff functions and was responsible for internal audits. As secretary of the bank he supported the Board of Management, the Supervisory and Advisory Boards and acted as liaison to the German Banking Authority. He co-headed the bank’s corporate finance division and was, in particular, responsible for the bank’s private equity business.
As a lawyer, Mr. Wendt focuses on cases in which clients can benefit from his business acumen. Based on his experience in the private equity business, he has a particular interest in family-owned companies.
