White & Case Tops Global Bankruptcy Firm League Table in Q1 2010, Among Top Five in Volume in US

White & Case ranked first in The Deal's league tables for the first quarter of 2010. The rankings measure firms by number of active debtor, creditor and other cases. White & Case has ranked first in The Deal's year-end bankruptcy league tables for the past three years.

As of 31 March 2010, The Deal credited White & Case with 815 active cases, more than double the number of its closest competitor. The magazine also named 12 White & Case partners among the top individual bankruptcy lawyers worldwide. They were Craig Averch, Biner Bähr, John Cunningham, Sylvia Fiebig, Evan Hollander, Thomas Lauria, Carlos Mack, Henning Mordhorst, Stephanie Pidun, Bettina Schmudde, Sven-Holger Undritz and Gerard Uzzi.

In addition, The Deal ranked White & Case among the top five law firms by volume in Q1 2010 for US bankruptcy cases, noting: "White & Case's Thomas Lauria, the global practice head of the firm's financial restructuring and insolvency group, only was on 25 active cases that qualify for volume table consideration, but he picked right: Visteon Corp. (he represents bondholders), Washington Mutual (senior noteholders), Six Flags Inc. (noteholders) and Tribune Co. (bridge lenders). In all, he had asset volume of $877.3 billion."
