White & Case in Top Ten of AmLaw's 2009 Global 100

White & Case has again been ranked among the largest law firms in the world by The American Lawyer’s prestigious Global 100 survey.

The 2009 survey ranks White & Case as the 10th largest firm by revenue (US$1.467 billion in 2008); the Firm has ranked in the top 10 by revenue for the last four years. White & Case was one of only 18 firms in the world to earn more than US$1 billion in 2008.

The Firm was also ranked ninth largest by number of lawyers—2,120 at the time of the survey—up from 1,971 lawyers at the time of the survey in the prior year.

Demonstrating its global presence, White & Case ranked third highest in the category of “Countries in Which Firms Have Offices.” The Firm listed offices in 25 countries at the time of the survey.

The Global 100 ranks the largest law firms in the world in a variety of categories—gross revenue, profits per partner and number of equity partners—and is frequently used as a benchmark by the legal community. The survey is compiled from headcount and financial information voluntarily provided by law firms to The American Lawyer and research done by The American Lawyer staff.
