Practice Experience
Richard Blackburn is an associate in the Firm’s Banking & Capital Markets group and joined the London office of White & Case in August 2006. His experience includes advising banks and other financial institutions in relation to structured finance work, in particular cash and synthetic CDOs and the restructuring of credit linked notes. Richard also has experience of general capital markets and investment funds transactions.
Richard spent time in the Frankfurt office as part of his training contract prior to qualification.
Examples of recent representations include:
- Representing leading financial institutions as arrangers and/or swap counterparties in relation to a number of synthetic CDO transactions and unfunded CDS transactions;
- Representing a leading international insurer in relation to an issuance of Schuldschein loans backed by a managed portfolio;
- Representing a leading French bank in relation to the restructuring of several series of credit linked notes;
- Representing a Turkish media company in connection with its proposed IPO on the London Stock Exchange; and
- Representing a large Northern European private equity house in relation to the €4.25 billion closing of its latest northern European private equity fund.
