Sebastian is a partner in the Singapore office, specialising in asset and project finance.

Sebastian has extensive experience in the field of aviation finance and leasing transactions in which he has represented a range of financiers, lessors and lessees. He has a broad background in international finance transactions with a particular focus on project finance (acting for lenders, sponsors and borrowers).

Prior to joining White & Case in 2000, Sebastian was an associate solicitor at Allen & Overy in London.

Examples of recent aviation finance transactions include: 

• Acting for Coface, ECGD and BNP Paribas in relation to the financing of 2 A330 aircraft for AirAsia X. 
• Acting for HSBC and HSH Nordbank in relation to the financing of 1 A380 aircraft for Emirates. 
• Acting for Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB) in its subscription, through a BVI SPV, to US$200 million of equity shares issued by PT Bumi Resources Tbk (Bumi), as part of Bumi's US$360 million non-preemptive private placement. The new shares comprise approximately 7% of Bumi's post issue share capital. We also advised RZB on the financing of this investment. 
• Acting for Coface, ECGD and Euler Hermes and the ECA Lenders in connection with the ECA-supported financing for Czech Airlines for 12 A320 family aircraft. 
• Acting for DVB Bank AG, HSH Nordbank AG and BNP Paribas in connection with the financing of a large operating lessor's acquisition of a portfolio of 6 Airbus aircraft on lease to various airlines. 
• Acting for Société Générale and Commerzbank in connection with the French tax lease financing of 3 Boeing aircraft for Cathay Pacific. 
• Acting for HSH Nordbank AG in connection with a US$250 million umbrella financing for Volito Aviation to facilitate Volito Aviation's expansion of its aircraft portfolio. 
• Acting for a major operating lessor in relation to an ECA backed facility for the purchase of new Airbus aircraft and subsequent aircraft deliveries to lessees on operating lease basis. 
• Acting for DVB Bank and Calyon in connection with the financing of Air Atlanta's acquisition and reconfiguration of 3 Boeing aircraft. 
• Acting for KfW and HSH Nordbank in relation to an EIB financing structure for LOT Polish Airlines to purchase 6 new Embraer aircraft. 
• Acting for a major US operating lessor as mezzanine debt provider for the financing of two Airbus A340 aircraft for a major European carrier. 
• Acting for a major US operating lessor in relation to a leveraged operating lease for a European cargo carrier. 
• Acting for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi on a warehousing financing for Iberia.

Examples of recent project finance transactions include: 

• Acting for an affiliate company of PT Bumi Resources with respect to a US$100 million financing provided by ICICI Bank Limited, Singapore Branch. 
• Acting for Egypt Basic Industries Corporation, S.A.E., a special purpose Egyptian project company, in connection with the development, construction and financing of a US$550 million project to produce 2,000 metric tons per day of anhydrous ammonia from natural gas feedstock at the Suez Industrial Area on the Gulf of Suez in Egypt. 
• Acting for the mandated lead arrangers and lenders on the US$600 million project financing of the Damietta Port Container Terminal in Egypt. 
• Acting for Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, FMO and Fortis Bank in connection with a US$50 million financing for AES-Sonel of an 80MW heavy fuel oil fired thermal power plant in Cameroon. 
• Representation of EHC as owner of a proposed 2 x 2200 MTPD ammonia plant in Egypt.
