Previously based in London and Singapore, he offers clients the benefit of his extensive experience advising on international, cross-border finance transactions across the EMEA and Asia regions. His track record has made him a valued resource for an array of financiers (including ECAs, multilaterals and commercial banks), as well as sponsors and borrowers.

Project Finance - Power:

Greenfield CCGT power project in Türkiye, ongoing
Sebastian is representing the lenders (including export credit agencies and commercial lenders) regarding the financing arrangements for the construction and development of a gas-fired power plant in Türkiye.

US$3.2 billion privatisation of energy assets in Türkiye, 2014
Sebastian represented a syndicate of seven Turkish banks in connection with the limited recourse financing of the privatisation of the Yenikӧy and Kemerkӧy thermal power plants in Türkiye.

CCGT power project in Türkiye, 2013
Sebastian represented the project company and sponsors regarding the ECA-backed project financing arrangements for the construction and development of a gas-fired power plant in Türkiye.

S$1 billion greenfield CCGT power project in Singapore, 2012
Sebastian represented GMR Energy (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (GMRE), a 100-percent-owned subsidiary of GMR International and Singapore's only privately owned and independent power producer (IPP), on the S$1 billion development and financing of a greenfield power project in Singapore. He also represented GMR in its subsequent sell-down of its interest in GMRE.

 

Project Finance - Infrastructure:

Healthcare PPP project in Türkiye, ongoing
Sebastian is representing the lenders (including IFC) in the project financing of the construction and development of a hospital facility in Türkiye, under the PPP scheme.

Disposal of interest in Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Türkiye, 2014
Sebastian represented GMR Infrastructure on the disposal of its interest in the Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul.

Airport refinancing in Türkiye, 2013
Sebastian represented the lead arrangers in connection with a proposed Rule 144A / Regulation S bond on an airport infrastructure project in Türkiye.

 

Project Finance - Oil & Gas:

Development and financing of petrochemical plant in Egypt, ongoing
Sebastian is representing the project company and principal project sponsor in connection with the development and financing of a world-scale petrochemical plant in Egypt.

Refinancing of oil receiving terminal in Türkiye, 2014
Sebastian represented BNP Paribas in connection with the refinancing of an oil receiving terminal in Türkiye.

 

Asset finance transactions:

Export-credit backed Airbus sale, 2012
Acting for an Asian aircraft leasing company, Sebastian advised on export credit-supported loan financing for 10 Airbus A321-200 aircraft.

Commercial loan finance for onward aircraft lease, 2011
Sebastian acted for BNP Paribas as sole arranger and lender on the commercial loan financing of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft acquired by Jackson Square Aviation for lease to Japan Airlines.

Airfinance Journal European deal of the year, 2009
On behalf of China Development Bank (CDB), Sebastian advised on pre-delivery payment financing and a long-term facility to AerCap for four new Airbus A330 aircraft with 2010 and 2011 scheduled delivery dates. The deal was awarded European Deal of the Year 2009 by Airfinance Journal.
