Sarolta Várszegi is an associate and member of our M&A, Private Equity and Capital Markets practice groups. She joined the Budapest office of White & Case in September 2010.

Sarolta's practice primarily focuses on capital markets, M&A and corporate law matters, with an emphasis on business transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions.

Since joining the Budapest office, Sarolta has been a member of our teams advising:
  • The number one alternative and the second-largest fixed line telecommunications and broadband internet services provider in Hungary in connection with its bolt-on acquisition of a Hungarian cable company in an auction sale conducted by the Hungarian cable company's owner, a US private equity firm, and its creditors, along with a simultaneous asset sale to a leading international cable operator; and
  • A consortium of investors 75% controlled by funds managed or advised by a private equity player in Central and Eastern Europe, in its auction sale of 100% of a telecommunications company in the Czech Republic to three funds managed by a global provider of banking and investment and funds management services for total consideration of €574 million.

Prior to joining White & Case, Sarolta worked at another international law firm, where she represented a range of clients in connection with several public and private offerings, including a stock exchange listing on the Budapest Stock Exchange, and also advised investment banks on capital markets regulations issues. She also assisted clients on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.
