Practice Experience
Sue F. Xia is an associate in White & Case LLP's Silicon Valley office, and a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Sue focuses her practice on patent litigation including complex hardware and software matters. In addition, she has patent prosecution experience in a variety of technologies including the fields of mobile communication, language recognition, image manipulation and data encryption technology. She has litigated patent cases involving a variety of technologies, including semiconductor memory devices, high-definition television, digital and analog integrated circuits, semiconductor manufacturing processes and data warehousing software. Additionally, she has successfully represented the plaintiff in a case involving misappropriation of trade secrets and copyright infringement. She successfully won summary judgment and the case settled favorably for the plaintiff.
Sue has worked abroad in Japan where she counseled clients on patent invalidity, enforceability and infringement of semiconductor hardware and processing patents.
Prior to attending law school, Sue worked as an engineer at a computer hardware company where she provided technical support for the company's product line.
