Federal Judge Partially Blocks Arizona's New Immigration Law

US District Judge Susan Bolton today blocked the most controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law. While the law will still take effect 29 July 2010, it will do so without provisions that, among other things, required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws and compelled immigrants to carry their papers at all times.
