Practice Experience
Mr. Mendoza is a counsel in the Firm's corporate and financial services department. His practice area includes the full range of general corporate commercial representation, including mergers and acquisitions, financings and work-outs, leasing and capital markets transactions.
Among others, Mr. Mendoza has recently represented:
- Votorantim Participacões S.A., the Brazilian holding company for the Votorantim group, the largest industrial conglomerate in Brazil, in connection with a WestLB-arranged US$280.0 million standby, revolving credit facility provided to Votorantim’s off-shore export vehicle, Votorantrade N.V. This transaction was awarded the "2004 Latin American Syndicated Loan Deal of the Year" by Latin Finance Magazine.
- Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. (CNO), as issuer, in the establishment of its US$250.0 million Medium Term Note Program under Rule 144A and Regulation S and the initial issuance of US$150.0 million notes thereunder.
- Banco Itáu BBA S.A., a Brazilian investment bank, as arranger, in the establishment of a US$100.0 million Euro Medium Term Note Program for Telemar Participações S.A., a Brazilian holding company that controls Tele Norte Leste S.A., a Brazilian telecommunications company.
- Banc of America Securities as structuring and transaction counsel in connection with Companhia Vale do Rio Doce's US$300.0 million securitization program of its iron-ore export receivables.
Prior to joining White & Case, Mr. Mendoza served as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter T. Fay in the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in 1997 and the Honorable William S. Hoeveler in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida in 1996.
