Practice Experience
Wendi R. Schepler joined White & Case LLP in 2003. Ms. Schepler is an intellectual property attorney who focuses on high-technology litigation and patent prosecution. Her practice also includes strategic patent counseling and preparing patent-related legal opinions.

Ms. Schepler has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in various areas of technology including integrated circuits, photovoltaic (solar) cells, computer networks, USB flash drives, guitar amplifiers, speech recognition software, language processing software, behavior recognition software, digital signal processing, digital communications, diagnostic ultrasound, video game software, computer graphics, photolithography simulation, business methods, and mechanical devices. Ms. Schepler also prepares and prosecutes design patent applications, and prepares requests for reexamination of patents.

Ms. Schepler's litigation practice includes patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation actions, in state and federal courts and before the International Trade Commission.

Her recent litigation experience includes:
  • Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. v. Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation – Representation of Marvell in a declaratory judgment action involving wireless networking technology
  • Silvaco Data Systems v. Cirrus Logic, Inc. – Representation of Cirrus Logic in a trade secret misappropriation action; obtained summary judgment of no misappropriation, which was upheld on appeal
  • Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) v. Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) – Representation of TSMC in patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation Section 337 action before International Trade Commission and in trade secret misappropriation action in California Superior Court
