Practice Experience
Werner Tetiwa's main areas of practice are corporate law, Mergers & Acquisitions as well as restructurings with a particular focus on banking and financial institutions.  He regularly advises major providers of financial services in Germany on corporate matters and financial transactions, including sale of loan portfolios, cooperation agreements and joint ventures, with special emphasis on banking regulatory issues.

Mr. Tetiwa has a broad experience in setting up and restructuring banks and financial institutions, as well as creating holding structures for groups of companies, orchestrating split-ups and mergers of business activities and other complex transactions for international clients. In his areas of expertise, he is also an experienced litigator.

Prior to joining White & Case in 1995 as a partner, Mr. Tetiwa gained experience in M&A matters and holding structures as Chief Legal Counsel of Aktiengesellschaft für Industrie- und Verkehrswesen (AGIV). Prior to this, he was regional General Counsel of the American Express group (German Area), concentrating on international banking, consumer finance and corporate matters.
