Yasuo Igarashi is a registered Japanese tax attorney (Zeirishi). Before joining White & Case, he was a partner in the Tokyo office of a major international accounting firm, where he worked for over 13 years, gaining extensive experience and becoming a renowned authority in Japanese leveraged leasing. He also provided advice in connection with and participated in tax examinations concerning corporation tax, income tax and withholding tax matters. He served as the expert-in-charge of the consumption tax during the year it was first introduced.

Prior to working with the accounting firm, Mr. Igarashi was an official of the National Tax Administration for 15 years. While with the NTA, he had extensive experience working on audits of foreign individuals and foreign-affiliated corporations, covering wide areas of individual and corporate taxation.
