Practice Experience

Zori G. Ferkin's practice focuses on the regulation and restructuring of the electric industry and on power project development and financing. Ms. Ferkin represents clients before the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state public service commissions and state and federal appellate courts. Ms. Ferkin represents developers of independent power projects and cogeneration and small power production facilities, financial institutions, large energy consumers, electric utilities, power marketers and energy services providers.

Ms. Ferkin has counseled clients in electric industry mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing of energy purchasing and energy facilities management, and project finance and lease transactions. She has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements, steam services contracts, transmission and interconnection agreements, and other contracts and documentation related to the development, financing and operation of power and steam-generating facilities.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Ferkin was an Attorney Advisor with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and served as Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania Governors Energy Council. Prior to joining White & Case LLP, Ms Ferkin was a partner and Of Counsel in the Energy practice of another law firm.
