White & Case was named Best Infrastructure Law Firm by business publication LatinFinance, which commented that "an extensive infrastructure financing team covering Latin America makes White & Case an important player in a number of the region’s most impressive deals."
LatinFinance cited the Firm's work on two winning deals in the LatinFinance 2013 Infrastructure Financing Awards, as well as a number of strong shortlisted candidates in other categories. The publication noted that the Firm "was also regularly cited by competitors and infrastructure bankers…for its substantial experience in the field, particularly on complex transactions."
White & Case represented guarantors to Largo Resources' Marcás Vanadium project in Bahia, Brazil, which won LatinFinance's Best Mining Financing.
The Firm also represented BBVA, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, Santander and Société Générale in the first two project bond offerings for wind farm projects in Mexico, Oaxaca II and Oaxaca IV, which won LatinFinance's Best Renewable Energy Financing Award.
Also noted by LatinFinance was the Firm's representation of Braskem and Grupo Idesa on the US$3.2 billion financing for the jointly-owned Etileno XXI petrochemicals plant in Mexico. That deal made the short list for LatinFinance's Best Infrastructure Financing, Mexico and for Best Oil/Gas Financing.
