Global law firm White & Case LLP has announced that it will retain 86 percent of its London trainees who are due to qualify in September 2014, after 12 of a total intake of 14 accepted positions at the Firm.
"The success of our excellent trainee programme reflects the Firm’s ongoing commitment to nurturing home-grown legal talent," said partner and training principal Justin Benson, who heads the trainee solicitor programme in the London office. "The consistently high level of our retention rates speaks volumes about the Firm, the quality of trainees we attract and the programme they enter.
"We expect the programme to continue to expand as we recruit an increasing number of trainees to meet the growing demand for English qualified lawyers from across our practices in London and, more broadly, the increasing need for English law capabilities throughout the Firm’s global office network. The new intake of 19 trainees joins the London office on August 6 and we look forward to welcoming them to the Firm."
White & Case retained 100 percent of its London trainees who qualified in February 2014, with all 14 accepting positions at the Firm. The programme has been established in the London market for 17 years and trainees benefit, in particular, from a guaranteed six-month international secondment. They join a broad range of practices including Bank Finance, Disputes, Energy, Infrastructure, Project & Asset Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions.
