Global law firm White & Case LLP has strengthened its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the appointment of Roger Kiem as a partner in its Frankfurt office.
"Roger is one of the most prominent Corporate/M&A lawyers in Germany which will fit well with White & Case's strong global platform and broad German practice. His arrival is a key development for our Frankfurt office as well as our integrated German, European and global M&A practice," said Markus Hauptmann, White & Case's Regional Section Head for Germany.
Roger's practice covers complex domestic and cross-border M&A, including both public and private transactions with a specific focus on the financial services sector and other regulated environments. He joins the firm from the Frankfurt office of Shearman & Sterling.
"We are very pleased that Roger has joined White & Case to support our European and global M&A practice," said John Reiss, head of White & Case's Global M&A Practice. "Germany is an important market for M&A and his extensive experience will aid the ongoing development of our activities there."
Roger will be joined by Andreas Wieland as a local partner in Frankfurt. He also joins from Shearman & Sterling where he worked in the corporate practice. His practice focuses on M&A and financial regulation.
M&A is one of White & Case's global strategic priorities. As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen the practice, the Firm recently announced the opening of a new office in Madrid, headed by Juan Manuel De Remedios whose practice focuses on M&A and capital markets.
