Peter Lu is Counsel in the firm's M&A Corporate Practice based in London and leads the firm's China practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Peter has focused his practice on representing public and private companies in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, corporate governance, directors' duties, and disputes in board and governance matters. Peter advises clients across a wide range of industries, including consumer, energy, infrastructure, transportation, financial institutions and professional services.
Peter's clients include Royal Charter organisations, multinational companies and funds such as The British Standards Institution, Bank of China, UCF Group, JL Pay, Hisense International, China-Africa Cotton, China Telecom and China-Africa Development Fund.
Clients praise Peter for the time he takes to know his clients, his skillful negotiation, ability to focus on the big picture, business understanding and problem solving skills.
Peter is a postgraduate supervisor at Peking University and teaches M&A courses at a number of universities and at the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC). Peter is a committee member of the Institute of Directors (London City branch), the UK's longest running organisation for professional leaders. Peter is a frequent speaker on corporate, China, China business matters and Brexit. He works and lectures in both English and Chinese.
