Biography

Overview

Yulia is an associate in the Moscow Dispute Resolution practice. She represents clients in both arbitration and litigation proceedings, tackling complex, cross-border disputes often involving states and multinational corporations. Yulia predominantly focuses on Russian insolvency proceedings and construction disputes.

Yulia is listed in Best Lawyers 2020 for her insolvency and reorganisation law experience.

Recent and ongoing matters include representing and advising:

  • A Belarussian contractor in an SCC arbitration against a Central Asian state and a state concern. The dispute relates to the construction of an ore fertiliser plant under a US$1 billion contract.
  • A metallurgical plant in arbitration proceedings before the SCC against a Chinese contractor in a dispute valued at US$200 million regarding construction of a rolling mill in Chelyabinsk.*
  • One of the largest banks in Greece Eurobank in a number of disputes and bankruptcy proceedings regarding the recovery of about EUR40 million from a Russian subsidiary of a Greek development conglomerate, as well as regarding the foreclosure of a number of high-value land plots in the Moscow Region.*
  • A US fund in a highly politically sensitive dispute with Russian authorities, which recognised the fund as undesirable in Russia for allegedly posing a threat to Russia’s constitutional system and state security.*
  • Head of Russian trade union of Adecco LLC (Fortune Global 500 company) against a defamation claim brought in Russia by the company.*
