Countries around the world are increasingly focused on national security reviews of foreign direct investment into their territories. Which countries conduct national security reviews? What triggers a review in any given jurisdiction? These are issues of increasing relevance in cross-border transactions.
The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) continues to play a significant role in foreign direct investments into the United States. But the review processes in other countries, such as China, France, and increasingly Germany, are making their presence known in terms of timing and impact on deal structure. This seminar will address the latest developments in national security reviews in cross-border transactions, as well as the latest developments and impact of US and EU Sanctions on global business today.
