White & Case Latin American Arbitration: Miami Edition
The White & Case Latin American Arbitration team recently gathered for the Miami Arbitration Summit and related activities at the Miami office. Partner and Head of Latin American Arbitration Jonathan C. Hamilton co-chaired the 3rd Annual Latin Lawyer/Global Arbitration Review Arbitration Summit in Miami on April 30, 2019. The summit focused on "Arbitration Across Sectors" and discussed key industries relevant to international arbitration in the region, including construction, energy, and mining. Partner Silvia Marchili addressed the latest developments in Latin America's energy sector, including the resolution of oil and gas disputes in jurisdictions such as Venezuela, Ecuador, and Argentina, as well as the status of renewable energy disputes in Spain and beyond. Madrid associate Ana Maria Legendre discussed construction and infrastructure disputes. Hamilton also chaired a debate to wrap up the day’s programming on "The Destiny of Investment Disputes in Latin America." Francisco Jijón of Washington, Ignacio Madalena of Madrid, Estefania San Juan of Miami, and Meredith Craven of Houston also participated.
