White & Case was named Project Finance Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2008.

The award recognizes the Firm's top-level advice on landmark project financings, notably:

• Representing Qatar Petroleum and Hydro Aluminium in connection with the $2.6 billion financing for a new aluminum plant in Mesaieed Industrial City, Qatar
• Representing Spanish Egyptian Gas Company in connection with the $1.02 billion refinancing of the Damietta LNG complex in Egypt
• Advising ABC International Bank and Standard Bank on the $16 million financing for the redevelopment of the historic Al Waddan Hotel in Tripoli, Libya – the first-ever international project finance deal to be funded in Libya
