White & Case was named Business Services Sector M&A Law Firm of the Year 2007 at the inaugural Financial Times and Mergermarket M&A Awards.
The awards acknowledge the financial advisory, legal advisory, public relations and private equity European M&A successes of 2007.
Winners were selected by Mergermarket's own deal data and an independent panel of judges.
White & Case was also shortlisted for Russian M&A Law Firm of the Year and CEE M&A Law Firm of the Year.
Key matters that contributed to the Firm wining the award included advising:
- ABB , a power and automation technologies company, in connection with the $950 million sale of Lummus Global to Chicago Bridge & Iron Company
- BAA on the £1.309 billion sale of its stake in Budapest Airport to a Hochtief-led consortium
- Intergum, the largest manufacturer of chewing gum in Turkey, on its sale to confectionary giant Cadbury Schweppes for $450 million
- KKR on its US$1.3 billion acquisition of Turkish freight company U.N. Ro-Ro Isletmeleri
- Royal Ahold on its $7.1 billion sale of US Foodservice to KKR
