Mergermarket's most recent table of US-originated law firms ranks White & Case number one for European M&A, based on deal volume over a three-year period from November 2004 – October 2007 (484 deals). The Firm ranked fifth by deal value (€317 billion). White & Case also ranked third for UK M&A work by volume (114 deals) over the same period and fifth by deal value (€111 billion).
Key matters from 2007 that contributed to the Firm's rankings include advising:
- ATF on its purchase by Italian financial services group UniCredit for US$2.3 billion
- BAA on the £1.309 billion sale of its stake in Budapest Airport to a Hochtief-led consortium
- EDEKA on its joint venture with Tengelmann Group, the largest transaction in the German food retail sector
- KKR on its US$1.3 billion acquisition of Turkish freight company U.N. Ro-Ro Isletmeleri
- Weather Investments on its €3.4 billion acquisition of Greek mobile operator TIM Hellas
