Practice Experience
Benedikt Gillessen's area of practice covers the whole scope of company law, with the main focus on stock corporation law and the law of capital markets.

He gives advice to domestic and foreign investment banks and issuers in the course of initial public offerings (IPOs), capital increases, take over procedures and other similar capital market transactions. He also advises with regard to all questions arising from existing listings on a stock exchange. Furthermore, Mr. Gillessen counsels in banking and general company law, e.g. transformation law and law on companies with limited liability.

Mr. Gillessen gave advice in numerous initial public offerings, capital increases, other listing or take over procedures of domestic and foreign companies and has gained wide experience in the context of German and international securities prospectuses. In the recent past, he has worked on (amongst others) the IPOs of WILEX AG (München), LHS Aktiengesellschaft (Frankfurt/Main), Air Berlin PLC (London/Berlin), HCI Capital AG (Hamburg), and Panalpina World Transport (Holding) Ltd. (Basel). Furthermore, he worked on the capital increases of Deutz AG (Cologne), Commerzbank AG (Frankfurt/Main) and Gildemeister AG (Bielefeld) as well as the issue of convertible bonds by Deutz AG (Cologne).

Mr. Gillessen worked as a freelancer for a German and a US law firm. In Frankfurt in 1998, Mr. Gillessen later joined a leading international law firm. In 2001, he worked six months in London as a secondee for an international investment bank in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions.
