Practice Experience
Christophe von Krause specializes in international commercial arbitration and dispute resolution. He has appeared before a variety of international arbitral tribunals under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), ad hoc tribunals and other institutions (eg. Zagreb Chamber of Commerce). His sector experience includes, in particular, construction, oil and gas, hotels and leisure, pharmaceutical, and M&A-related arbitrations, notably post-acquisition disputes. Christophe also has extensive experience negotiating and preparing complex dispute settlement agreements on behalf of clients.
Christophe has represented clients in both French and English language arbitrations and has oral advocacy experience in both languages. He has worked with the civil laws of numerous jurisdictions, and has represented clients from diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds.
Christophe has recently represented clients in the following disputes and arbitrations:
Advising in respect of the design and construction of nuclear power stations;
ICC arbitration in Brussels related to the construction of an industrial facility in Russia;
US$200 million ICC arbitration in Paris governed by a North African substantive law concerning the relocation and construction of a gas plant in a desert location in North Africa;
US$40 million ad-hoc arbitration in Tunis governed by Tunisian law arising out of the reconstruction and renovation of a hotel, a member of a major international chain, including related litigation in Tunisia relating to the challenge of the award and enforcement;
ICC arbitration in Paris governed by French law related to a post-M&A transaction dispute in the pharmaceutical industry;
US$15 million arbitration under the rules of Zagreb Chamber of Commerce governed by Croatian law arising out of the construction of a hotel in Croatia;
ICC arbitration governed by French law related to a post-M&A transaction dispute in Macedonia in the mining industry;
Two ICC arbitrations in Paris governed by Czech law and Romanian law arising out of financial disputes in connection with the operation of hotels in Eastern Europe; and
ICC arbitration in Paris governed by Algerian law arising out of the operation of a hotel in Algiers.
Before focusing his practice on international arbitration, Christophe also advised French and foreign industrial groups on international corporate and M&A transactions in both France and abroad.
Prior to joining White & Case, Christophe spent time in West Africa with an international law firm advising foreign investors in the oil and gas, mining and industrial sectors.
