Practice Experience
Eric Berg is head of White & Case's Global Banking Practice and formerly served as a member of the Firm's Management Board.
Mr. Berg's legal practice covers a broad range of finance matters, with a particular focus on the representation of lenders, sponsors and corporate borrowers in domestic and international leveraged finance transactions. He also regularly leads asset-based financings as well as investment and near-investment-grade financings and has handled a wide variety of workout and restructuring transactions. He advises on all aspects of the structuring, negotiation and documentation of deals, including the structuring of financings to maximize tax efficiencies (in the case of international transactions,) the negotiation of intercreditor relationships and compliance with margin regulations. Mr. Berg has extensive experience in hostile takeovers as well as negotiated public and private acquisitions and recapitalizations.
Mr. Berg is recognized as a leading bank finance practitioner in numerous guides to the profession. Chambers USA 2011, for example, ranks Mr. Berg in the top tier for Banking & Finance while Chambers Global 2012 includes Mr. Berg in its list of the world's leading Banking and Finance lawyers while noting that he "has a great reputation amongst his clients for getting the job done."
