White & Case Wins Six Awards at 2014 Global Commercial Arbitration Awards Ceremony

White & Case received six awards at the 2014 Global Commercial Arbitration Awards Ceremony, hosted by Euromoney and Legal Media Group, on September 30, 2014.

Receiving more awards than any other law firm, White & Case's International Arbitration Practice was named both "United States Arbitration Firm of the Year" and "France Arbitration Firm of the Year," Paul Friedland (New York) was named "United States Arbitration Counsel of the Year," Phillip Capper (London) was named "Construction Lawyer of the Year," Michael Polkinghorne (Paris) was named "Energy Lawyer of the Year," and Ank Santens (New York) was named "Global Rising Star of the Year."

White & Case was also shortlisted for six other awards. Carolyn Lamm (Washington, DC) was nominated for "United States Arbitration Counsel of the Year," Abby Cohen Smutny (Washington, DC) was nominated for "Investor-State Counsel of the Year," Christopher Seppälä (Paris) was nominated for "Construction Lawyer of the Year," Michael Polkinghorne (Paris) was nominated for "France Arbitration Counsel of the Year," Anders Reldén (Stockholm) was nominated for "Sweden Arbitration Counsel of the Year," and our London International Arbitration Practice was nominated for "United Kingdom Arbitration Firm of the Year."

In addition, two former White & Case lawyers and world-renowned public international law jurists, Stephen Schwebel (a former Judge and President of the International Court of Justice), and Charles Brower (a former Judge of the Iran-US Claims Tribunal), were inducted into the Commercial Arbitration Hall of Fame.
