Data law and regulation magazine Global Data Review (GDR) has named global law firm White & Case LLP to its "Global Elite," 20 firms that "stand out from the pack" and "consistently deliver cutting-edge advice to household name clients around the world." The 20 Global Elite firms sit atop the GDR 100, GDR's inaugural listing of "the world's best data law firms."

In addition to naming the firm to its Global Elite, GDR named White & Case among a small group of firms recognized as "Standouts" in both the Advisory and Litigation categories, and cited White & Case partners Detlev Gabel (Frankfurt), Tim Hickman (London) and Arlene Arin Hahn (New York) as "Leading Individuals" in their specialties. White & Case is one of only five firms globally to receive multiple "Standout Performance" awards.

Profiling White & Case for its Global Elite announcement, GDR observed that White & Case's "wide international presence has helped White & Case lead clients through complex multi-jurisdictional matters. The firm has represented a leading social media company involved in a privacy dispute in several EU jurisdictions, has helped a car manufacturer deal with the privacy and telecommunications law aspects of an in-vehicle system in 52 jurisdictions, and has developed a global data privacy compliance project for an international pharmaceutical company. Other initiatives include advising multinational corporations on human resources and client personal data."
