White & Case ranked first in The Deal's bankruptcy league tables through the third quarter of 2011. The table ranks firms by number of active debtor, creditor and other cases. White & Case has ranked first in The Deal's year-end bankruptcy league tables for the past four years.
As of September 30, 2011, The Deal credited White & Case with 1,103 active cases, more than triple the number of its closest competitor. The magazine also named three White & Case partners among the top 10 individual bankruptcy lawyers worldwide by number of active cases. They were Biner Bähr, ranked third: Christoph Schulte-Kaubruegger, ranked fifth; and Sven-Holger Undritz, ranked eighth.
In addition, The Deal ranked White & Case eighth by asset value through the third quarter of 2011 for US bankruptcy cases. Also in the United States, partner Thomas Lauria, head of the Firm's Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice, was ranked second in individual cases with 24 active matters, with an asset volume of $854.6 billion.
