Practice Experience
Gregory J. Spak practices primarily in the area of international trade regulation, representing foreign governments, exporters and US importers involved in trade proceedings. He focuses on administrative, judicial and arbitral proceedings related to the implementation of trade remedy laws in the United States and in other jurisdictions. He also counsels private companies on compliance with export control laws and regulations.
Mr. Spak advises private companies and foreign governments on the rights and obligations arising from bilateral, regional, and multilateral trade agreements, and the disputes arising under those agreements. In recent years Mr. Spak has been an active advisor on disputes before the World Trade Organization ("WTO"), in which he has advised parties in multiple phases of proceedings and has appeared in various hearings.
Mr. Spak works extensively in Latin America, which allows him to combine his Spanish language skills with his knowledge of trade regulation. From 1994-1996, Mr. Spak lived and worked as an attorney in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
