Practice Experience

Henning Berger focuses on German public business, advising public and private institutions on questions of administrative and constitutional law and insurance, banking, and finance supervision. He also has extensive experience in privatization, planning and environmental European law.

In the area of financial services Mr. Berger advises public institutions, banks and insurance companies with regard to corporate and product related matters. Mr. Berger has great experience with regard to deposit insurance schemes for banks and insurers and cross-border activities of financial service providers in Europe.

In the area of privatization and public private partnerships Mr. Berger advises public entities and private investors on public tendering procedures and the design of relevant transactions and documentation. He has counseled his clients e.g. with regard to the de-merger of a public bank and the privatization of hospitals, utilities and housing companies.

In the area of environmental and planning law Mr. Berger is active in public infrastructure and complex building projects as well as air and noise pollution issues and the new European emission trading scheme.
