Breakfast briefing with Professor David Llewelyn, Of Counsel, Intellectual Property, White & Case Singapore.
David will be speaking about how companies in Asia can move their intellectual property rights (IPR) from the liability to the asset side of the balance sheet, as businesses all round the region are starting to create and use their own IPRs for competitive advantage. This briefing will discuss how the business world is changing and copyright, brands, patents and trade secrets are becoming the new "must have".
As one of the world's leading IP lawyers, David advises on all aspects of IP protection and exploitation, as well as IP and technology arbitration. He has published and lectured extensively and is the Deputy Chairman and External Director of the IP Academy Singapore, a post he has held since 2007. From 2004 to 2007 he was the Academy's Director. His other regional academic postings include Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong and Visiting Scholar at the East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai.
