Practice Experience
Jakub Gubański specializes in mergers and acquisitions, as well as in competition law matters.

Since the beginning of his legal carrier at White & Case, Jakub has worked on numerous acquisitions of public and private companies, including banks, insurance companies, IT, energy and FMCG companies, also in a privatization procedure. He has also represented various private equity funds in numerous acquisitions of Polish portfolio companies. Jakub also advised on internal reorganizations of the capital groups as well as on the formation of joint-ventures.

In 2007 Jakub was seconded to the White & Case Brussels office, where he focused on European law, including in particular competition law. He assisted in antitrust proceedings before the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. Jakub has also provided legal advice on the antimonopoly aspects of cross-border concentrations of business entities, in particular on the energy, insurance, telecommunication, media, IT and real estate markets.

Jakub graduated from the University of Warsaw Faculty of Law and Administration (magna cum laude), where he also pursued two years of PhD studies. He completed coursework at the Center for American Legal Studies co-organized by the University of Warsaw and the University of Florida. As a Socrates Erasmus scholar, he also studied at the University of Utrecht School of Law. His articles have been published in Crime, Law and Social Change, Gazeta Finansowa and The Wall Street Journal Polska.

Jakub Gubański is an attorney-at-law (adwokat) and a member of the Regional Bar Council in Warsaw.
