Practice Experience
Kamilla Tokhtaeva is a member of White & Case's Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance Practice Group with concentration in international project finance and other international financing transactions. Ms. Tokhtaeva joined White & Case in 2000.
Ms. Tokhtaeva has been involved in project financings in the power sectors in Brazil and Mexico with the firm's representation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Société Générale (SG) and other commercial banks and financial institutions.
Ms. Tokhtaeva's experience has included assisting on such transactions as:
The multi-lender (IFC, SG and OPIC) project financing of the 895MW Macaé gas-fired power plant in Brazil;
The project financing by IDB of the 484MW Termobahia gas-fired cogeneration plant in Brazil;
The multi-lender (including SG) refinancing of the $300 million secured debt of Companhia de Eletricidade do Estado da Bahia-Coelba in Brazil;
The project financing by IFC of the Rio Bravo III and IV gas-fired power plants in Mexico; and
The project financing by IDB of the 880MW Campos Novos hydroelectric power plant in Brazil.
Ms. Tokhtaeva is a native Uzbek and Russian speaker and has assisted with various matters involving the firm's Uzbek and Russian clients.
Ms. Tokhtaeva has also assisted in representation of clients based in the US and abroad on a wide range of export control and economic sanctions matters and enforcement proceedings before such US government agencies as OFAC and BIS.
