Marc Israel Joins White & Case as a Partner in London

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice with the addition of leading competition lawyer Marc Israel as a partner in London.

"White & Case has built a strong antitrust practice in the US, across the EMEA region, and around the globe," said partner Mark Gidley, who leads the Firm's Global Antitrust Practice. "Marc is acknowledged as a leader in competition law, and his skills, experience and strong reputation in the market will be a considerable advantage as we continue to grow our antitrust/competition offering in London."

The addition of Marc, who joins the Global Antitrust Practice, supports the firm's strategic focus on growth in London.  Marc's practice focuses on complex M&A/private equity related non-contentious matters along with cartel, investigations and antitrust litigation.  Marc deals with cross-border cases (both for UK and overseas clients), representing clients before the UK and European competition authorities, and has also appeared before the UK and European courts in competition cases. Marc advises clients on competition issues across a wide range of industry sectors including private equity houses and their portfolio companies.  He joins from Macfarlanes where he was head of its Competition/EU group and led its cross-departmental competition litigation practice, and brings more than 20 years of experience.

"Marc's addition will provide exciting synergies between our competition, disputes and our M&A/private equity teams in London and across EMEA," said partner Mark Powell, Regional Section Head, EMEA Competition. "Marc's practice is an excellent fit for the firm and our clients, and his addition will strengthen our London capability."

Oliver Brettle, executive partner in London and member of the Firm's Executive Committee, said: "Our 2020 strategy includes a focus on London, and on M&A and disputes, which has stimulated the need for more competition law expertise on the ground in London, especially merger control work. The addition of Marc illustrates the Firm's commitment to the strategy and responding to client demand."
