Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Debt Finance Practice, and its financial institutions and private equity global industry groups, with the addition of Lauren Winter as a partner in London.

"The arrival of a highly capable lawyer like Lauren is a reflection of the strong demand from global clients across our busy and successful London debt finance team's service offerings," said White & Case partner Eliza McDougal, head of the Firm's Global Debt Finance Practice. "She adds to the team's existing strength as we continue to grow in the world's second largest legal market to ensure we meet the needs of our clients."

Lauren's practice focuses on cross-border and UK acquisition finance and restructurings, advising investment banks, alternative credit providers, corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors on a variety of debt capital structures in the European large-cap and mid-cap markets. She advises on all major financing structures including syndicated cov-lite financings, unitranche financings, second lien loan financings and super-senior revolving credit facility and high yield bond financings, as well as subordinated instruments including holdco financings. Lauren joins White & Case from Shearman & Sterling, where she was counsel, and brings nearly 15 years of experience.

"Lauren is an exceptional lawyer with experience advising leading clients on cross-border and UK acquisition financing, capital solutions, restructurings and other event-driven financings across the credit spectrum," said White & Case partner Colin Harley, Regional Section Head, EMEA Banking. "Her practice is a great fit with our offering in London and more broadly, and she adds further strength to the service we provide to our clients."

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Lauren's arrival represents continued growth for White & Case in London. We have promoted 17 London lawyers to partner since the start of 2023 and six other partners have joined the office laterally – M&A partner Emily Brown from Ropes & Gray, debt finance partner Peter Mason from Freshfields, asset finance partner Mark Moody from Winston & Strawn, antitrust partner Michael Engel from Kirkland & Ellis, tax partner Jessica Kemp from Travers Smith and M&A partner Ian Ivory from BCLP."
