White & Case Advises Bupa on £835 Million Acquisition of Oasis Dental Care

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised global health and care company Bupa on its £835 million acquisition of Oasis Dental Care, the UK's leading private dental provider, from European private equity group Bridgepoint.

"We were delighted to advise Bupa on this acquisition, with our broad experience and capabilities in both the healthcare and private equity sectors ensuring we were ideally positioned to support a strategically important transaction," said London-based White & Case partner John Cunningham, who co-led the Firm's deal team with partner Ian Bagshaw. "The acquisition is a significant milestone in Bupa's drive to offer its customers high quality dental services, with Bupa becoming a major provider in the UK's £7.1 billion dental market."

Following the deal, which is subject to regulatory approvals, Bupa will provide dental services to more than two million customers through 420 clinics with more than 1,800 clinicians. The company, which already has dental businesses in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Chile, Poland and Hong Kong, employs more than 84,000 people and achieved revenue of £9.8 billion during 2015.

Oasis Dental Care is the second largest dental provider in the UK, with 380 practices and more than 1,800 dentists serving both the private and public sectors. It achieved annual revenue of £277 million during the 2015/16 financial year, employs more than 6,000 people and serves two million customers in the UK.
