Global law firm White & Case LLP has announced that it will retain 100 percent of its London trainees who are due to qualify in September 2015, after all 14 accepted positions at the Firm.
"We are committed to offering our young lawyers a great start to their careers, working on interesting, cross-border matters," said partner and training principal Justin Benson, who heads the trainee solicitor programme in the London office. "There is substantial growth in demand for English law qualified lawyers, both in our London office and in many of our global offices. Our historically high retention rates reflect the Firm's continuing ability to retain the very best young lawyers by supporting their development. We also have a track record of promoting our best associates to partner which is very attractive to recruiting and then retaining the very best lawyers in the market."
In February 2015 the Firm retained 100 percent of its London trainees and 86 percent in September 2014. The programme has been established in the London market for 17 years and trainees benefit from a guaranteed six-month international secondment.
The newly qualified lawyers join a broad range of practices including Capital Markets, Banking, Corporate M&A, Private Equity, Disputes and Energy, Infrastructure, Project & Asset Finance.
